Task 1 - Writing
Write a 300-word first-person (first-kraken) perspective of the Kraken as it sits at the bottom of the sea. What happens when a ship comes past? Is it a fishing ship, a warship or a merchant ship? Does their hatred of you justify you slaughtering the crew of the ship?
Writing cues
- A fishing ship is on the ocean who has found your location and is trying to catch the fish that surround you.
- A warship has come out into the ocean to find and kill you.
- When you took a ship down into the ocean, you notice the men wriggle and squirming in the water, helplessly drowning. How do you feel?

Task 2 - Drawing
Draw from the Kraken's perspective from the deep. You may draw him immensely large like the earlier myths or slightly smaller but still deadly as in the Renaissance tales.
Drawing cues - The kraken reaches its tentacles to the keel of the ship, about to drag it in - The kraken is holding a human, suffocating it with its huge tentacles - The kraken stares at a ship, wondering how they think of it - The kraken is challenging his rival, the giant whale, in combat |
